Hyundai i10: Clutch judder from an oil-contaminated clutch
What goes wrong
Oil leaks from the gearbox input-shaft seal onto the clutch plate and makes it judder; Hyundai has recognised this seal leak. Reverse can also be hard to engage.
How to check it yourself
Judder when pulling away, especially in reverse or uphill. A garage checks for oil on the clutch and bellhousing when the gearbox is split.
The usual fix
Replace the input-shaft seal together with the clutch kit.

Problem 2
Hyundai i10: Vibration from worn engine mounts
What goes wrong
The engine and gearbox mounts wear, letting vibration through at idle and a clunk when pulling away.
How to check it yourself
Watch the engine while someone shifts between drive/reverse or lets the clutch out gently: excessive movement points to a worn mount.
The usual fix
Replace the worn mount.
